Le Cirque de Mourèze
The Cirque de Mourèze, not far from the Salagou lake, the cirque is 16 km from the gîtes, this dolomitic ensemble of almost 300 ha offers a surprising landscape. The erosion of the limestone is at the origin of this forest of strangely shaped stones. At the foot of this lunar landscape, the medieval village of Mourèze is well worth a visit, with its fort built on a rocky spur but also its church and typical alleyways.
There are 4 hiking trails to discover the site. The easiest of the four takes 45 minutes and is very affordable, while the other three take between 2 hours 15 minutes and 3 hours 30 minutes.

Saint Guilhem le Désert
At the entrance to the Gorges de l'Hérault, 30 km from the gîtes, this medieval gem is a must-stop on the road to Compostela. The village is a magnificent testimony to Southern Romanesque art, with the Gellone Abbey and its many buildings and old streets. The narrow cobbled streets lead to pretty, shady squares... The Place de l'Eglise is particularly pleasant, with its cafés, restaurants and stilts. Once you've had a bite to eat, you can take a short stroll up to the Château to admire the view. A 3-hour hike from the village of Saint Guilhem le Désert takes you along the rue du bout du monde to the hermitage of Notre Dame de Belle Grâce. At the foot of the village of Saint Guilhem you can swim or canoe.
