The beaches of the Hérault
With canals criss-crossing the city, Mont Saint Clair offering an exceptional panorama as far as the Pyrenees, a fishing port in the city center and 12 km of beaches, Sète has everything it takes to make a typical and surprising discovery.
Built on the slopes of Mont Saint Clair, between the Etang de Thau, the sea and the canals, it's one of the largest ports on the Mediterranean, with the mingled scents of sea and garrigue. Paul Valéry and Georges Brassens are its most famous sons.
It's also a lively, cosmopolitan city, with a picturesque atmosphere created by foreign communities, particularly Italian, and port activities.

La Grande Motte
A seaside resort just 20 minutes from Montpellier, La Grande Motte has been awarded the "European Blue Flag" label by the Foundation for Environmental Education in Europe, under the aegis of the French Ministry of the Environment.
La Grande Motte's beaches benefit from an ongoing effort to protect and enhance them.
12 shower points are installed on the beaches (5 on Plage Est and Plage du Centre, 7 on Plage Ouest - Motte du Couchant).

Carnon
Just 20 minutes from Montpellier, Carnon plage is located between Palavas les flots and La Grande Motte. Carnon is bordered by a fine sandy beach, ideal for lazing around. There are also a number of well-equipped beaches where you can eat and drink. Windsurfing and kite surfing are also available on this beach, which is particularly popular with summer tourists, as well as with locals, who don't hesitate to drop in at weekends.

Palavas
Palavas les flots is the nearest beach to Montpellier. It offers 7 kilometers of fine sandy beaches with sports facilities such as beach volleyball courts, landscaped beaches, showers, beach clubs and many other surprises. Frontignan Plage
Frontignan offers seven kilometers of beaches bathed in Mediterranean sunshine, with water quality guaranteed by the European Blue Flag. All sports and leisure activities are accessible: windsurfing, boating, jet-skiing, kite-surfing or scuba diving. For lovers of secluded beaches, the nearby Plage des Aresquiers offers the chance to enjoy the sea away from civilization...

Sète
Sète offers beach lovers twelve kilometers of fine sandy beaches separating the town from the Etang de Thau. For several years now, this beach has been awarded the Blue Flag for the quality of its water. The corniche beach on the way to Marseillan stretches along the land bank that separates the Etang de Thau from the Mediterranean Sea. You'll be able to enjoy beach sports or just lazing around, without forgetting to swim in the blue waters of the Mediterranean.

Marseillan Beach
Marseillan's three large sandy beaches are very popular with summer visitors. You can choose between Le Rieu, Robinson and plage Méditerranée. A host of leisure facilities have been set up for the comfort and, above all, enjoyment of tourists: beach volleyball and soccer are very popular on Marseillan's beaches, not forgetting kite surfers and other windsurfers who take advantage of the Mediterranean's great qualities.

Cap d'Agde
Cap d'Agde boasts 14km of beautiful beaches, including the shell-covered La Roquille, the large Richelieu beach, the Môle beach and the small beach surrounded by cliffs for those seeking peace and quiet. For those who want to have fun, there's the Ile aux Loisirs (Leisure Island), specially designed for them: restaurants, bars, miniature golf courses and amusement parks are all there for holidaymakers to enjoy...

Valras Plage
